Bye Bye, Orange!

So, you're all probably wondering what that title means.  Well....come to find out, the bridesmaid dresses that we had picked out and ALMOST ordered are in fact, peach....not orange.  We were lead to believe that they would be bright orange which turned out to be completely wrong.  So we had to change dresses! (For once a change that wasn't just because I wanted to but because I had to!)  It ended up being for the better though.  I was able to find a dress for them that I have been looking for all along! It is Alfred Angelo #7123, it's made of satin and we are getting it in Charcoal Gray with a satin ivory ribbon.  It's absolutely beautiful!

The Groomsmen are going to be in Charcoal gray tuxes with an ivory shirt, a gray vest and tie! Very sharp! Justin with either be in all ivory or he will be in a charcoal gray tux with an ivory shirt, vest, and tie so that he stands out from everyone else :)

So there is no more orange! Our colors are just Charcoal gray and Ivory!  And our flowers are all Calla Lily's.

Everything is going to be so elegant! I can't wait <3

Much love,
Sarah

UPDATE!!

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to give you all a quick update!

Centerpieces have been decided!! THANK GOD. We are having 30 tables and on half of the tables we are having big tall vases with silver LED battery operated branches.  And on the other half I had some help from my girl Katrina! Thanks for the good ideas! :) We are either going to do 3 cylinder vases with orange flowers in water with a floating candle or a vase filled with either cracked ice or clear gems and put roses on top.

So beautiful!

These lighted up throughout the reception are going to be so awesome!

My cousin Phillip's Fiance Stephanie has been a huge help in planning some things.  I had asked her what she thought would be a good way to have the cupcakes decorated and she came up with this and I LOVE it! It will also be easy for our baker to do! We have also decided on the two flavors that we are having as well.  We want to please everyone so we are going with Vanilla and Chocolate cupcakes.

So pretty--and elegant.  Will match our diamond and glitz theme very well!

Last weekend my maid of honor was in town and we got the bridesmaid dresses picked out for sure! All of my bridesmaids are going to look absolutely gorgeous!

The dress will be in orange (the actual color is cantaloupe)

I will be sure to post more as we get things decided!

UPDATE! :)

SO my idea for change didn't exactly go through because we can't get our deposit back from the Ramada.  So wedding is for sure at Yanney Heritage Park in Kearney and the reception is still at the Ramada Inn.  Although I'm sad that we weren't able to have the wedding at the barn in Hastings it'll be fine.  The places in Kearney are wonderful and it will be absolutely gorgeous!

For centerpieces, I want something BIG....something shiney...and something gorgeous! We have a huge ballroom with sky high ceilings..I plan on making the best of it.  I plan on doing centerpieces with iced branches and votive candles.  The iced branches will give it a nice diamond look.

LOVE!!

This weekend, my mom and maid of honor will be in town to help get some decisions made so I'm not feeling so stressed.  So I will definitely let you all know what gets decided!

We are also headed to a bridal expo Sunday in Lincoln.  Fingers crossed that we will lots of stuff!  Last Sunday Janet & I went to the tri-city bridal expo in Grand Island and I won $50 off the Hastings quartet (who wins an orchestra!?!?) LOL!  And I also won a $100 giftcard to "Crushin' on Chocolate" ..which is a cake ball place and they are AMAZING!!!

Well that's all I have for now! Hope everyone has a wonderful day :)

Last time for changes...I swear!

I'm sure that you've all heard me say that I'm not going to make changes ever again and that my decisions are final...yeah, well...I lied. But this time I swear..if I get what I want, things wont change! :)

I recently discovered a barn that is about 2 miles from our house that does weddings and receptions! It's very rustic and its so cool! It would definitely make for some great pictures and a very unique wedding! The place is called Prairie Loft.  (if you would like to see it you can go to www.prairieloft.org and you can look them up of Facebook under Prairie Loft Center for Outdoor and Agricultural Learning)

Here is a picture of the barn--so simple yet so perfect!  (Finger's crossed our date is still available)

Tomorrow I am going to call and see if the date is still available and then we need to cancel with the Ramada inn and Yanney Park in Kearney.

I have so many wonderful ideas for decorating this place its unreal!

Although the barn isn't this fancy on the inside, with a little help from my best friend and maid of honor Kenli it will look amazing!!

I could use mason jars, which I LOVE!

And we could give out the most cute party favors!

And we would have to do some iced branches because they make for some gorgeous centerpieces! Kudos to Kenli and my boss Shari!

It would be so much more convenient to have it at Prairie Loft.  It's right here in Hastings so it would make planning 100X easier and I have so many great ideas for it!  Plus, we could cater in whatever food we wanted..which makes Justin very happy! What do you all think!?!?

I will keep you all posted on what's happening!

Such decisions!

Alright people. I'm struggling, and I need YOUR help!

So as you all know, we are having the reception at the Ramada Inn, in the ballrooms.  In case you forgot what it looked like, here's a picture:

I'm thinking it's going to look funny if we do a "mason jar" theme inside this gorgeous ballroom.  I think we are throwing two completely different feels together.

I love these. But I'm thinking we need something bigger, and more modern.

I've done some looking around, and I've found some new decor that I also really like and I'd like some opinions please!

What do you think?

cake/cupcake centerpieces? LOVE.

I have so many ideas going through my head right now, and I'm not sure what to do.  I just want everything to be perfect!

Loves! <3

Mason Jars..

Hey Everyone!

So I've recently become obsessed with the idea of using mason jars in the wedding.  Actually, making it a big theme.  I just think they are so creative and you can do so much with them.  So as a result, I have been doing a lot of pinning on all kinds of mason jar ideas that I'd love to share and get some feedback on!
I will start with centerpieces, here is what I found and I absolutely love it and it's going to happen.  Instead of doing 3 of the same size jars, I am using 3 different sized ones.

How cute is that, I mean really!?

These are glasses that I'm either going to make myself or purchase for the entire wedding party to drink out of at the reception, because I just love them.

LOVE!

I am also thinking about incorporating mason jars into the invitations.  They have some pretty cool ones out there:

So..what does everyone think so far!?

Justin and I will not be seeing each other before the ceremony so someone NEEDS to make sure a picture like this gets taken.(cough cough KENLI)
 I adore this!

Well ladies and gents, that's all I have for tonight, have to work at 5am so I better get to bed.

LOVES <3

So its been awhile..

Hello everyone!
Kenli was right...it has been quite awhile since I've last posted! Between switching jobs, working full time and being in school full time..well, I don't have much time to do anything. BUT these past few weeks I have really gotten a lot done.

First off...if you couldn't already tell the colors are no longer hot pink and shamrock green--I clearly can't make up my mind to save my life! But I am sticking with these new colors for good! I love them, so I hope you all love them as much as me.

Slate Gray and Orange are the new colors!!

Now that I have chosen my colors (for good this time!) There is much planning that needs to be done! Kenli and I have a lot of work to do! I will share with you all the ideas I have come up with so far :) and Kenli will keep you updated on any ideas that she has too, I'm sure!

Centerpieces?
So simple--yet so cute!
 Love!
Decoration Idea:

I'm going to show you one more thing and then I'll be done until tomorrow! Instead of doing the traditional guest book we are going to do what is called a guest book quilt.  As everyone enters the reception they will be asked to write on a piece of fabric and then Janet and Tammie Johnson are going to take all the pieces of fabric and make it into a "forever quilt."

How neat is that!?
Well that's all I have for tonight.  Hope everyone had a great weekend! :)
